December marked another meaningful milestone for our mission to build a better web for people and the planet. Through our certified partnership with 4ocean, everyday browsing helped fund real cleanup work, turning digital habits into tangible ocean impact.
December 2025 Impact at a Glance

In December alone, Wave-supported cleanup efforts helped remove 7,507 pounds of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers, and coastlines in Indonesia, across 8 verified cleanup operations.
That brings Wave’s lifetime partnership impact with 4ocean to 70,027 pounds removed, and this is just the beginning.
This impact supports cleanup crews, equipment, and processing facilities doing the essential work of removing plastic and trash where it matters most.
Where the Cleanup Happened
This month’s efforts focused on Indonesia, a region heavily impacted by ocean-bound plastic waste. Cleanup teams worked across coastal areas and waterways, collecting, sorting, and documenting plastic and trash before it could cause further environmental harm.
Wave doesn’t support one-off events. It contributes to sustained, verified cleanup operations designed to create long-term environmental and community impact.
What Happens After Trash Is Collected?
Transparency matters. Once materials are recovered, 4ocean crews follow a clear processing workflow:
- Materials are sorted by type, grade, and color
- Plastics are shredded into fine-grain material
- Items are washed and separated by floating and sinking properties
- Clean materials are prepared to be repurposed into new products
This ensures waste doesn’t simply move from one place to another. Materials are responsibly processed, with some plastic recycled and repurposed, helping keep it out of our ocean for good.
Why Wave’s Impact Is Different

Wave Browser was built to prove that better technology can also mean better outcomes for the planet. Unlike traditional browsers that offer no meaningful environmental contribution, Wave integrates real-world impact directly into everyday use.
Independent outlets have taken notice of this approach, highlighting Wave as a browser redefining what browsing with purpose can look like:
- PCMag explored whether switching browsers can actually help protect our ocean
- Computer Tech Reviews examined Wave’s feature set and mission-driven design
- The Future of Things covered Wave’s role in shaping a more responsible web
- Happy Eco News shared the origin story behind Wave as a force for ocean change
Together, these perspectives reinforce a clear standard: impact should be verified, transparent, and real.
Powered by a Certified Partnership with 4ocean
Wave supports ocean cleanup through a Certified Cleanup Partnership with 4ocean, one of the most established and transparent cleanup organizations in the world. This partnership ensures Wave-supported efforts directly contribute to crew wages, vessels, equipment, and ongoing cleanup operations—not abstract offsets or unverifiable claims.
Looking Ahead
Wave’s long-term goal is to help remove 300,000 pounds of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers, and coastlines by 2028, and December’s results highlight what sustained, verified action can achieve over time.
This is what browsing with purpose looks like: no extra steps, no behavior change. Just real impact, backed by data.
Thank you for helping make waves, one browsing session at a time.
