40cean cleanup

According to the Impact Report, Wave Browser’s November contribution resulted in 7,500 pounds of plastic and trash being removed from the environment.

This cleanup took place in Indonesia, one of the regions most affected by ocean-bound plastic waste and was carried out through 34 cleanup operations supported by our partnership with 4ocean

Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago, with over 17,000 islands and millions of people living close to rivers and coastlines. When waste is mismanaged on land, it has a very short path to the ocean.

Several of the world’s most polluted rivers flow through Indonesia. During heavy rains or monsoons, these rivers push massive amounts of plastic downstream, where it spills into coastal areas.

This is why cleanup teams often return to the same locations repeatedly, because trash keeps flowing in from upstream.

Lifetime Impact: 62,520 Pounds and Growing

november impact report

The partnership’s cumulative progress has now reached 62,520 pounds of waste removed. It reflects months of steady, persistent work from cleanup crews on the ground and the collective impact of everyday people who choose to browse with purpose.

Each session on Wave helps fund verified ocean cleanup efforts through our partnership, a process we break down in our detailed guide on how Wave Browser verifies ocean cleanup efforts. This system ensures that every pound removed is tracked, documented, and tied to real, measurable action.

The Wave Browser mission was highlighted by Plastics Today, showcasing our commitment to removing ocean plastic and supporting real environmental impact.

Together, our users are proving that even small habits—opening tabs, downloading the browser, staying productive online with Wave—can ripple outward into meaningful environmental change.

Every tab truly counts.

What We Collected: A Look at the Cleanup Data

A Look at the Cleanup Data

The November cleanup focused heavily on removing ocean-bound plastic, which continues to be the most common and most damaging type of waste entering coastal environments.

Each collection represents hours of hands-on work, from identifying hotspots to hauling, sorting, and preparing the waste for processing. Together, these efforts power the thousands of pounds of pollution Wave Browser helps remove every month.

Wave’s work was mentioned on major tech outlets like PC Gamer and GamesRadar, highlighting its focus on sustainable tech and a smooth browsing experience. With coverage like this, Wave continues to build its reputation as a modern, user-friendly browser made for everyday use.

What Happens After the Cleanup?

Once the plastic is removed from coastlines and waterways, it begins a careful transformation process designed to ensure every piece is handled responsibly.

The journey starts with:

  1. Sorting: Material is categorized by type, grade, and color.
  2. Shredding: It’s then fed into a shredder that grinds waste into fine particles.
  3. Wash Tank: The shredded plastic is cleaned, floated, and separated.
  4. New Life: Clean, separated material becomes ready-to-use feedstock for new products.

This means the plastics and trash removed through Wave Browser aren’t simply collected, they’re responsibly processed and repurposed.
